| Cabin at Walden Pond Oil Painting on Canvas. 22 x 28 inches. I was invited to take part in the Paint The Town celebration in Concord. I chose to depict the cabin built by Henry David Thoreau, the transcendentalist philosopher. I set up my easel at this location and painted the scene in front of me, except that the cabin itself required imagination for today the location is marked by a cairn of stones deposited by visitors. On the other side of the park, a replica of the original cabin provided me with its appearance. As a final touch I added some smoke from the chimney. The painting was sold the same day at the Paint The Town auction at the the Concord Art Association. PRINTS You may purchase on-line a print on paper or canvas, framed or unframed Home |
